Ingredients

  • Turkey bacon strips: 4 pieces that’s about 100 grams
  • Eggs: 5 large ones yep, you read that right!
  • Pie crust: 1 you can go store-bought or homemade, whichever you prefer
  • Milk: 1/4 cup that’s about 60ml
  • Cheddar cheese: 1/2 cup grated (roughly 60 grams)
  • Onion: 1 medium-sized finely chopped
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chives: A handful finely chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep it up!
  • Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While it’s warming up, roll out the pie crust and gently place it in a pie dish.
  • Turkey bacon time!
  • In a skillet, fry the Turkey bacon until it’s just beginning to crisp. You don’t want it too crunchy for your Turkey bacon and egg pie.
  • Add the Onions:
  • Once the Turkey bacon is done, remove it from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, toss in the finely chopped onions. Sauté them until they’re translucent.
  • Let’s get cracking!
  • Whisk the eggs in a bowl, then add the milk, salt, pepper, and half of the grated cheese. Mix well.
  • Pie Assembly:
  • Place the Turkey bacon strips and sautéed onions at the bottom of the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over them, ensuring an even distribution.
  • Cheese it up!
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the Turkey bacon and egg pie. It’ll give it that golden, cheesy crust.
  • Bake Away:
  • Slide your pie into the preheated oven. Let it bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the eggs have set.
  • Cool & Slice:
  • Once out of the oven, let the Turkey bacon and egg pie cool for about 10 minutes. This makes slicing a lot easier.

Notes
