Ingredients

  • Rolled oats: 1 cup 250g
  • Fresh apple juice: 1 cup 240ml
  • Greek yogurt: ½ cup 120ml
  • Lemon juice: 1 tbsp 15ml
  • Apples grated: 2 medium-sized
  • Raisins or sultanas: ¼ cup 60g
  • Almonds chopped: 1/3 cup (80g)
  • Fresh berries for topping: ½ cup (120g)

Instructions

  • Begin with taking your rolled oats and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Pour the fresh apple juice over the oats, ensuring they’re well-submerged.
  • Add the Greek yogurt into the mix and stir until well combined.
  • Drizzle in the lemon juice to keep the apple’s color fresh and mix again.
  • Grate your apples finely and fold them into the oat mixture.
  • Incorporate raisins or sultanas and half of the chopped almonds, mixing until everything is well-distributed.
  • Cover your bowl and place it in the fridge overnight.
  • In the morning, give your Bircher muesli a good stir.
  • Divide the muesli between bowls.
  • Top with fresh berries, the remaining chopped almonds, and any other desired toppings.

Notes

If you prefer your Bircher muesli a bit sweeter, consider adding a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Bircher muesli can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Customize your muesli by adding different fruits like banana slices, kiwi, or even passionfruit.
Chia seeds or flaxseeds can be added for an extra boost of fiber and omega-3s.
A dollop of yogurt on top can add creaminess to your Bircher muesli.
Consider pairing your muesli with a hot beverage like tea or a latte.
If serving for brunch, a side of fresh fruit salad complements the muesli beautifully.
