Ingredients

  • - Bread slices: 4 white or whole wheat, your choice!
  • - Cheese: 4 slices or 1 cup grated cheddar or mozzarella
  • - Butter: 2 tablespoons 30g
  • - Optional fillings: Tomatoes onions, or any veggie you love!

Instructions

  • Lay out your bread slices on a clean surface.
  • Place a slice or a quarter cup of cheese (depending on your preference) on two of the slices.
  • If you're feeling adventurous, toss in your optional fillings!
  • Close your sandwiches with the remaining bread slices.
  • Generously butter both the outer sides of each sandwich.
  • Heat up a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Once hot, place the buttered sandwiches on the skillet.
  • Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.
  • Slice diagonally, and voilà! Your Cheese toasties are ready to be devoured!

Notes

1. Using a cheese mix can elevate the flavor of your Cheese toasties.
2. Add a hint of garlic or herb butter for an added kick.
3. Pressing down the sandwich with a spatula during cooking helps the cheese melt faster.
4. If using fillings, ensure they're thinly sliced for even cooking.
