Start with Preheating: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This is the ideal temperature for our cowboy casserole.
Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, sauté the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic until translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
Layering Time: In a casserole dish, start by layering half the tater tots at the bottom. Spread them evenly.
The Beefy Layer: Over the tater tots, spread the beef mixture.
Soup it Up: Spread the condensed cream of mushroom soup over the beef.
Veggies Next: Now, layer with corn, diced tomatoes, and olives.
Top it Off: Finish off by layering the remaining tater tots on top, followed by sprinkling the shredded cheddar cheese evenly.
Bake it Up: Slide the casserole into the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until you see the cheese melted and bubbly, and the tater tots turning golden brown.
Cool Down: Once baked, allow the cowboy casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
