Ingredients
Method
- Begin by pressing the tofu for about 10 minutes to remove excess water. Slice the tofu block into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine freshly squeezed orange juice from 1.5 oranges, soy sauce, red chili flakes, honey, ginger, and minced garlic. Stir until well combined.
- Reserve half of this spicy orange sauce mixture for later.
- Marinate the tofu slices in the remaining spicy orange sauce for about 10 minutes.
- While the tofu is marinating, heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat.
- Carefully place the marinated tofu slices on the grill pan.
- Grill each side of the tofu for 4-5 minutes or until they have nice grill marks.
- While grilling, occasionally brush the tofu with the spicy orange sauce to keep it moist and flavorful.
- Once grilled, remove the tofu slices from the grill and set aside.
Notes
1. Make sure to press your tofu properly. This helps in better absorption of the spicy orange sauce.
2. For an extra zing, add some orange zest to the sauce.
3. If you're not a fan of spice, you can reduce the amount of red chili flakes.
4. Using a grill pan gives the tofu those beautiful grill marks, but you can also use a regular skillet.
