Ingredients

  • Tuna steaks: Grab 2 pieces roughly about 6oz each (that’s around 170g for my metric folks).
  • Olive oil: Just 2 tablespoons or 30ml.
  • Salt & Pepper: A little goes a long way. 1/2 teaspoon of salt 2.5g and a pinch, say 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper (1.25g).
  • Mango: One big juicy one. Dice it up!
  • Avocado: Yep just one. Dice it as well.
  • Red onion: A quarter cup of this finely chopped wonder around 40g.
  • Cilantro: Fresh is best! 1/4 cup chopped roughly 15g.
  • Lime: Squeeze out the juice of one.
  • Red chili flakes: Optional but oh-so-good! Half a teaspoon 1g should do.

Instructions

  • First Off: Fire up that grill. Medium-high is the sweet spot.
  • Tuna Time: Lightly brush ’em with olive oil, season both sides. Once the grill’s sizzling, let them sear. Around 3-4 minutes on each side for that perfect medium-rare.
  • Salsa Magic: In between, whip up the salsa. Mango, avocado, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and those optional chili flakes – in a bowl, mix without mashing. We need those textures!

Notes

QUICK TIPS
Fresh Tuna: Make sure it’s firm and has that gorgeous pinkish hue.
Sizzle, Not Char: Keep an eye on the tuna. Overcooking isn’t fun.
Spice Alert: If you’re not all about that spicy life, ditch the chili flakes.
SERVE IT UP
How about pairing the Grilled Tuna with Mango and Avocado Salsa with a light quinoa salad or maybe some steamed greens? The world’s your oyster… or, well, your tuna in this case.
Place a hearty scoop of salsa on the tuna, match with your side of choice, and you’re set. Dive in and taste the magic!
