Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • While the grill is heating, roll out your whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface.
  • Make sure it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Brush one side of the pizza dough lightly with 1 tbsp of olive oil.
  • Carefully place the oiled side of the dough directly onto the grill.
  • Grill for about 2-3 minutes or until it’s slightly charred and has grill marks.
  • Remove from the grill and brush the uncooked side with another tablespoon of olive oil.
  • On the cooked side, spread the tomato sauce evenly.
  • Distribute the mozzarella cheese slices on top of the sauce.
  • Add the thinly sliced turkey and sliced chicken sausage.
  • Scatter the sliced red bell pepper and minced garlic over the toppings.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if you’re going for that extra kick).
  • Carefully place the pizza back onto the grill, uncooked side down.

  • Remove from the grill and sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top.
  • Slice, serve, and let the Grilled Turkey and Sausage Pizza party begin!

Notes

PRO TIPS FOR THE PERFECT PIZZA:
  1. Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  2. If the pizza dough is store-bought, allow it to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before rolling.
  3. Rotate your pizza halfway through grilling for an even cook.
  4. If you don’t have a grill, this recipe can easily be adapted for an oven or a stovetop griddle.
  5. Use a pizza stone for even cooking if you’re opting for an oven method.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS:
  • Pair this Grilled Turkey and Sausage Pizza with a fresh garden salad drizzled with olive oil and lemon.
  • For an extra touch of freshness, sprinkle some arugula over the hot pizza just before serving.
  • Serve with a tangy yogurt dip or a pesto sauce on the side for an extra layer of flavor.
