  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder around 50g
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar roughly 60g
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk 120ml
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter about 60g
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted (30ml)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 5ml
  • FOR THE FROSTING:
  • cup natural peanut butter 80g
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 15g
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup 30ml
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a donut pan.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond milk, peanut butter, melted coconut oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Slowly incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry mix. Stir until just combined.
  • Carefully spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity three-quarters full.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Once the donuts have cooled, spread the frosting over each one.

For a nuttier texture, sprinkle some crushed peanuts on top of the frosted donuts.
If you’re not a fan of peanut butter, you can easily swap it for almond or cashew butter.
  • Enjoy these Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Frosted Donuts with a glass of almond milk for added richness.
  • If you’re feeling adventurous, pair the donuts with a scoop of your favorite healthy ice cream or Greek yogurt.
  • They also taste amazing when served with a sprinkle of coconut flakes or a drizzle of honey for some extra sweetness.
