Press and Marinate the Tofu:
Start by pressing the tofu: place it between two paper towels and place a heavy object (like a skillet) on top. Leave it for 15 minutes to drain excess water.
In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes and gently coat them with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare the Peanut Sauce:
In a separate bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of chili garlic sauce, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, minced ginger, minced garlic, and 3 tablespoons of water. Mix until smooth.
Grill the Tofu:
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with vegetable oil.
Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto skewers. Grill them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear.
Coat with Peanut Sauce:
As the tofu grills, warm up the peanut sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir gently to prevent burning.
Once the tofu is ready, remove it from the skewers and gently toss it in the peanut sauce until evenly coated.
Serve and Garnish:
Plate the spicy grilled tofu, drizzling any extra peanut sauce on top.
Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves to add a burst of color and flavor.
