Ingredients

  • Lean Ground Beef: 1 lb 454g
  • Sriracha Sauce: 2 tbsp 30 ml
  • Whole Wheat Burger Buns: 2
  • Lettuce Leaves: 4
  • Tomatoes: 2 sliced
  • Red Onions: 1 thinly sliced
  • Low-fat Cheddar Cheese: 4 slices optional
  • Pickles: 4 sliced
  • Olive Oil: 1 tbsp 15 ml
  • Salt: To taste
  • Pepper: To taste

Instructions

  • Begin by taking a mixing bowl.
  • Toss in the 1 lb (454g) of lean ground beef.
  • Add in 2 tbsp (30 ml) of Sriracha sauce for that spicy kick.
  • Mix well ensuring the Sriracha is evenly spread throughout the beef.
  • Shape this mixture into two even burger patties.
  • Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Heat 1 tbsp (15 ml) of olive oil in a grill pan or skillet.
  • Once hot, place the patties on the pan.
  • Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, ensuring they are well-cooked but remain juicy.
  • Just before the patties are done, place a slice of low-fat cheddar on each if you’re opting for cheese.
  • While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns until they are golden brown.
  • Time to assemble your Spicy Sriracha Lean Beef Burger! Start with a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun.
  • Next, place the beef patty.
  • Layer with slices of tomato, pickles, and red onion.
  • Drizzle a little more Sriracha sauce if you’re up for extra heat.
  • Cap it off with the top bun.
